Wowhowhoooowww...It's been a long time since I've posted anything.  Guess that's what happens when I actually have something to do with my day.

The latest.

Bought a nice coat today (yes, a grown up one.)

I'm ordering a 42" plasma TV on December 1st.

It snowed here yesterday.  (It snowed here in Missouri BEFORE it snowed in Michigan.  Go figure.  Good thing I have that coat.)

The sky is blue.  Grass is green.  But...

I'M GOING BACK TO MICHIGAN NEXT WEEK.

Yes, my friends back home call me a white boy stuck in a brown boy's body AND yes... that means I'm least fobbiest FOB they know (and you know how all FOBs WANT to act black) but...

HOLLLLLAAAAA.

I'm coming home.

(No, I'm not actually reading that book.  But the title works for my situation.  Don't you think?)

You want to know what life is like when you have a real job?  6am to 5pm is the same from Monday to Friday.  You get ready to and you go to work.  After 6pm, you MIGHT get the chance to have some fun.

Last week Monday -- I played basketball.  I can STILL tear people up even when I'm fasting.

Last week Tuesday -- I did plyometrics and nearly passed out.

Last week Wednesday -- Basketball again and I sucked.

Last Thursday -- Met up with a Muslim connection for Iftar..

Last Friday?  Met up with a brown connection in Zona Rosa.  And for all you people back in Michigan, Zona Rosa is very nice.

Saturday and Sunday was spent watching the best college and worst pro football games.  USC vs. ND.  Detroit vs. Carolina.

Monday -- NOTHING... And I liked it.

Tuesday -- My entertainment center came.  Now all I need is a sweet tv.

Getting really skinny now because of Ramadan.  I ate bison, yeah bison last night with Hans, his girl Nicky, and Kiran at Ted's Grill in Zona Rosa.

Certain songs I listen to remind me of certain places and people.

When I listen to "The City of Blinding Lights," I think of my trip to New York City this past 4th of July.  I immediately think of a warm night in Times Square.  It intertwines with that feeling I got at the intersection of Broadway and Houston a few days earlier.

When I listen to "Fields of Gold," I think of the pureness I felt that afternoon when I skipped class to do what I had to do.

When I listen to a certain Jay Quinn song, I can't help but think how right its lyrics are, especially towards the end, to this day.  I shake my head when I admit that to myself.

When I listen to the "I've Been Delivered," I think Chicago and the freedom I felt wandering downtown.  I can think of how nice it was to cleanse myself of all the wrongs done to me during the summer with that freedom.

When I heard the news this past week that the piece of paper I tried so hard to get had arrived to my home back in Michigan, I can picture myself and how I felt.  I can think of the song I was listening to.

If people only knew what I had gone through to get that piece of paper.

Many will never know.

Being here in Kansas City and being on my own.  Living the lifestyle I've grown accustommed to and being responsible for it just makes me shake my head when I think of certain people over the years.  Over the summer.

The best revenge is to live well.

So far, I have nothing to complain about.

If people only knew the effort it took in getting that piece of paper.
